Influenza Report
Health Services is beginning to see Trinity students infected with influenza.  But it’s not too late to get a flu shot in Health Services

This miserable illness causes fever, headache, body aches and cough, as well as other symptoms.  People who have the flu can also get secondary illnesses like bronchitis and pneumonia.  If you are sick, report to Health Services during regular hours.  Students with flu symptoms and fever should not go to class until their fever is gone for 24 hours without taking fever reducing medication.  Infected students can expect to miss at least a few days of classes.

Have you had a flu shot yet?  The CDC advises that the flu vaccine is the best protection against flu.  And the sooner you get it the better as it takes about two weeks to make antibodies after receiving the vaccine.  You can get one in Health Services Monday through Friday during regular hours, no appointment necessary. The cost is $12 payable by Tiger Bucks, check or we can bill your student account.

Other ways to help prevent the flu are to stay away from people who are sick, wash your hands frequently throughout the day, eat well and get adequate sleep.  If you have questions about the flu vaccine or how to stay healthy come to Health Services to talk with a nurse.
